The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova summoned the Russian ambassador because of the missile flight over the country

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova confirmed that a Russian missile violated the country’s airspace today. The country’s Foreign Ministry has already summoned the Russian ambassador for an explanation.

This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.

According to the information of the Moldovan side, at 10:18 an enemy rocket crossed the state border of Moldova in the area of the village of Mokra in Transnistria governorate.

Then the rocket flew over the Sorotsky district in the direction of Ukraine.

-The Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the responsible structures of the country, is closely monitoring the situation in the region and strongly condemns the violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, – the Ministry of Defense of Moldova said in a statement.

In his turn, the head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, ordered to urgently summon the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau, Oleg Vasnetsov.

The agency once again wants to remind the Russian side about the unacceptable violation of the country’s airspace by today’s flight of a Russian missile.

– We strongly reject the recent unfriendly actions and statements regarding the Republic of Moldova, which our people consider absolutely unacceptable. We call on the Russian Federation to stop the military aggression against the neighboring country, which leads to numerous human casualties and material losses, – stated Daniel Vaudet, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi reported that in the morning two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles entered the airspace of Moldova, and later Romania, which is a NATO country.
