It became known how many MiG-29 fighters Slovakia can transfer to Ukraine

Slovakia is considering the possibility of transferring 10 out of 11 Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.
This is reported by the AP agency.
Moreover, the 11th plane is reserved for the Slovak museum, Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nagy said.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger for planes at the European Union summit in Brussels.
If Slovakia agrees to give the planes, it will become the first NATO member to do so.
In the summer, Slovakia stopped using its MiGs due to a lack of spare parts and maintenance specialists – they were serviced by Russians.
But the Air Force of Ukraine uses the MiG-29, so these aircraft are important for us.
– We will never use MiGs again. They have no real value for us. If we give them to Ukraine, they will help save their lives, – said Nagy.
A final decision is expected within days or weeks.
It is worth noting that Bratislava signed a contract for the purchase of 14 American F-16 Block 70/72 fighters, but the USA will have them in early 2024.
Nagy emphasized that Ukraine’s need for weapons and its defense against Russian aggression absolutely corresponds to Slovakia’s national and state interests.
In February, the National Council of Slovakia recognized the Russian regime as terrorist, and Russia as a state that supports terrorism.
