Now Ukraine needs heavy battle tanks and armored personnel carriers, long-range artillery, guided missiles with a range of 80 to 150 km and a powerful air defense system, and we can talk about the supply of fighter jets in the long term.

This opinion was expressed by the elected president of the Czech Republic, former NATO general Petr Pavel, in an interview with Die Zeit.

– In the future, fighter jets should also be delivered to Ukraine. But we are talking about half a year or even more. After all, it requires the training of specialists, flight and ground personnel, logistics, ground security, – he explained.

Pavlo also named three factors that are important for solving the situation: consistent implementation of sanctions against the Russian Federation, maintaining financial support for Ukraine and providing the necessary weapons.

Watching now

– If all this is put together, it will be really difficult for Russia to continue the war this year. This would be the best scenario, – the Czech leader concluded.

By the way, the Czech Republic plans to manufacture mobile air defense complexes for Ukraine, which will be financed by the Netherlands. It’s about a hundred modified Toyota SUVs, equipped with several rapid-fire machine guns that will shoot down drones.

The Czech Republic is also modernizing 90 T-72 tanks.
