Putin will try to launch another offensive in the near future – Kirby
The coming weeks will be “critical” in the war in Ukraine, according to the official representative of the US National Security Council, John Kirby.
In an interview with CNN, he said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “will try to launch another offensive, possibly in many other directions.”
– We must make sure that we are doing everything possible so that Ukraine is ready for this – said Kirby.
According to him, the US wants to provide the Ukrainians with everything they need to defend against any new Russian offensive, as well as to have the flexibility to “conduct their own offensive operations at the right time and in the right place.”
– It is for this reason that we are now withdrawing battalions from Ukraine and conducting joint military maneuver exercises with them… We are doing everything possible to make sure that they are ready for these critical weeks and months that await them ahead, – the representative of the White House added.
The day before, John Kirby said at a briefing that Vladimir Putin realizes how badly things are going for him in the war against Ukraine, emphasizing that more than 50% of the territory that the Russian Federation took in the first weeks and months has already been returned to the Ukrainians.
