The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is conducting a targeted information operation to restore the reputation of the brigade, which has become synonymous with Russia’s recent failures in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on Twitter.
It is noted that during March, measures to restore the image of the 155th Marine Brigade included:
- some of the most detailed Russian helmet cam footage ever released;
- the visit of the famous Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov;
- public statements that the formation is “in high spirits with a firm determination to achieve the set goal”;
- photos showing this brigade being re-equipped with modified tanks.
In fact, according to British intelligence, 155 Brigade has likely been declared unfit for combat at least twice in the past six months for participating in tactically flawed frontal attacks near Vuhledar in Donetsk region.
– Attempts by the Russian Ministry of Defense to restore the brigade’s image probably reflect concern that its failures are increasingly associated with Russia’s top military leadership, – the British added.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled more than 70 enemy attacks in four directions over the past day.
