China has disclosed some details of a telephone conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
In particular, it is known that Beijing has decided to send a special representative to Ukraine to resolve the “crisis.” This was stated by Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hua Chunying.
– “China will send a special representative of the Chinese government for Eurasian affairs to Ukraine and other countries for in-depth communication with all parties on the political settlement of the ‘crisis’ in Ukraine,” she said.
She also said that China “will not sit idly by, will not add fuel to the fire, and certainly will not use the situation for its own benefit.”

She echoed Xi Jinping’s words that “China always stands on the side of peace, and the main position is to promote peace negotiations.”
The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not specify whether the parties had reached any specific agreements. However, according to the assistant foreign minister, China will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine “to the best of its ability.”
On Wednesday, April 26, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation. The Ukrainian president expressed hope that this call, as well as the appointment of Ukraine’s ambassador to China, would give a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
