Slovakia raises more than a million euros to buy a tank for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Gift for Ukraine initiative wants to raise €1.2 million in Slovakia to buy a T-72M1 tank for Ukraine. This was reported by the Slovak publication Denník N.
Their official website shows that as of the evening of May 4, they managed to raise more than €30 thousand for the purchase of the tank.
The initiative was launched by Nikolas Mutka, who owns a tailoring salon in the Slovak capital Bratislava.
– “It’s time for Slovakia to make a big gesture to show that it is on the side of Ukraine,” said Mutka.
The collection started on May 1. It is reported that the total amount will be transferred to a defense company, and then the tank will be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Transportation of the combat vehicle will be handled by the Ukrainian Embassy in Slovakia. It is planned to be delivered in September this year.
At the end of March, Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy said that Bratislava intends to increase the production of ammunition and artillery shells, which are necessary for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend themselves against the Russian army.
According to him, Slovakia will take on a key role in the production of ammunition for Ukraine.
