Events in Belgorod region seriously undermined Putin’s image – military expert

The events in the Belgorod region have dealt a serious blow to the image of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as the guarantor of the territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders of the Russian Federation.
This was stated by military expert, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Chernyk on the air of the national information telethon Yedynyi Novyny (United News).
– “In my opinion, this is both a military goal and an information and psychological one. And there are some very serious strategic conclusions here. I will offer my view. The first and most important one is a very serious blow to Putin’s image as a guarantor of the territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders of the Russian Federation,” the analyst said.
According to him, it is now finally clear that the Russian Federation has state borders that are leaky as a sieve.
– “The second point is that the taboo of moving combat operations to the territory of Russia has been finally lifted. And this is incredibly good. It turned out that Russia’s borders are absolutely leaky as a sieve, so this is the basis of a kind of Kremlin tower called Bortnikov and Patrushev. That is, the former KGB, the FSB, they have been responsible for the border since the birth of the Soviet Union and the NKVD.
And the most important conclusion is that all Russian elites, both regional and central, will think about it. Can they be safe, what are the nature and effect of such raids? And it cannot but rejoice. Finally, fear has truly come to the territory of the Russian Federation,” the military expert said.
However, Chernyk believes that there is no need to raise expectations from the events in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. In his opinion, there should be more raids to turn the tide of a full-scale war in Ukraine.
– “From a purely military point of view, there is no need to raise the bar of expectations that these raids will turn the tide of the war. They have to be massive, that is, large. If there was a mechanised brigade somewhere, then yes. The enemy would have to withdraw combat units from the contact line. As it is, it’s not bad.
We have to understand that a real guerrilla movement needs support from its own population. I don’t see this sign yet. Everything that is happening there is definitely welcome. Ukraine is acquiring its strategic military subjectivity,” emphasised Chernyk.
