US President Joe Biden said he is disappointed that Chinese leader Xi Jinping will not attend the G20 summit in India.
This is reported by Reuters.
– I’m disappointed … but I’m going to meet with him, – Biden said, without elaborating.
The American president will visit India from September 7 to 10 to participate in the summit of the G20 countries, and then he will go to Vietnam to strengthen relations with Asia.
Xi Jinping is likely to miss the summit. Chinese Premier Li Qiang is expected to represent Beijing at the meeting in New Delhi.
Asked if he was looking forward to the trip, Biden said: Yes, I am.
– I expect a little more… coordination. I think that India and Vietnam want much closer relations with the United States, and this can be very useful, – he said.
Earlier, Bloomberg journalists reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is planning a visit to China.
