The West must ensure the defeat of the Russian Federation in Ukraine – the head of the British Ministry of Defense
British Defense Minister Grant Shapps believes that there is a risk of attack by such dictatorial regimes as China if the West does not ensure the defeat of Russia in Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with The Telegraph.
In his opinion, regimes that do not believe in democracy are watching the war in Ukraine and may start attacking Western countries if they decide that they have “run out of security”.
– The West must very clearly realize that this is an existential problem… It is not only about Ukraine, – emphasized Shapps.
It was because of growing fears of a confrontation with Moscow, he said, that recruitment to the British army more than doubled last month.
– For its own national interests and certainly for the Western civilized world, it is vitally important that Ukraine be successful in its own country, – concluded the British minister.
On January 15, the head of the British Ministry of Defense, Grant Shapps, in a speech about the defense plans of the United Kingdom, said that 2024 should be a turning point , and for Ukraine, a year when “the fate of its nation can be decided.”
He also warned that in five years the world could witness several theaters of war involving Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.
