During the 22 days of the war in Kyiv 222 people died, including four children – Kyiv City State Administration

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops in Kyiv, 222 people have been killed and more than 880 have been injured.

This was announced today at a briefing by the First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznyk.

He clarified that 60 civilians were killed, including four children.

–  222 people have died in Kyiv since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, 60 of them civilians, including four children, – said Povoroznyk.

He added that 889 people were injured during the full-scale war in the Ukrainian capital, 241 civilians among them (including 18 children, three ambulance drivers and one ambulance doctor).

At the same time, during the 22 days of the war in Kyiv, 757 children were born: 403 boys and 354 girls. Among newborns there are 13 twins.

Destruction of infrastructure

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, since the beginning of the full-scale war in Kyiv, the enemy has damaged 36 houses, five private estates, six schools and four kindergartens.

Facades, balconies and windows were damaged in 55 houses.

The vital activity of the capital of Ukraine

As Povoroznyk noted, Kyiv continues to defend itself and come under enemy attack.

However, all the infrastructure is working in the city. The capital of Ukraine is supplied with heat, water, light, mobile communication, television signal.

Public transport and metro operate in Kyiv (although its stations are mostly used as bomb shelters).

The business is beginning to revive. The city has grocery stores and pharmacies, most banks have resumed operations, gas stations, car services, pet shops and other establishments have started operating.

In addition, 35 fairs and markets in the capital have resumed their work. A humanitarian headquarters operates in the capital.

It should be noted that the Russian invaders continue shelling Kyiv. Specifically, on the morning of March 18, Russian troops shelled a residential area in the Podolsky district of Kyiv. As a result of enemy shelling, a 5-storey residential building caught fire.

As the Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko informed, as a result of the shelling of the Vynohradar residential area in the Podolsky district, one person was killed, another 19 were injured (four of them were children).
