In Mariupol (Donetsk region) 90% of infrastructure was destroyed due to constant brutal shelling by Russian troops. More than 100,000 civilians remain in the city who cannot be evacuated.

The mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko told about it today during a briefing.

He noted that Putin’s troops are destroying Mariupol with all the weapons they have: howitzers, volley fire systems Grad, Smerch, Hurricane, Pinocchio flamethrowers. The enemy bombed the city from planes.

– Today I must state that 90% of our infrastructure has already been destroyed… Today the artillery continues to work. To this were added enemy ships that “work” from the sea today in the city of Mariupol, – said Boychenko.

He clarified that 60% of the damaged infrastructure of the city is a direct hit by artillery or aircraft of the Russian Federation. At the same time, 40% of the infrastructure can no longer be restored.

Vadym Boychenko accented that the situation in Mariupol remains very difficult, it is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Today we are on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. A city without light, without water, without food, without medicines for more than a month, – he specified.

Boychenko reminded that the Russian Federation is blocking all humanitarian cargoes to the city, as well as buses for evacuation of residents (none of them was able to get to Mariupol). At the same time, Russian war criminals destroyed all 150 city buses that were planned to be used for evacuation.

On March 13, a corridor was opened to evacuate people in private cars to Berdyansk. The route works but intermittently and without setting the silence mode. Boychenko informed that almost 90,000 people from Mariupol have already been evacuated by the humanitarian corridor between Berdyansk and Zaporizhia.

At the same time, about 130,000 people are still in the blockade of Mariupol.

– The city today has more than 100,000 people which we plan, but can not evacuate… 130, 000 people today are in Mariupol, – said Boychenko.

He also said that the Russian invaders forcibly deport residents of Mariupol to Russia or to the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass.

– This is really a deportation. This is a forced departure from Mariupol to the so-called “DNR” or to Russia. I want to give an example: when a man with a weapon comes in at night and says that it is an evacuation, the people who have been in the bomb shelter for about 20 days go out, get in the car and go somewhere. And in the morning they see that it isn’t Ukraine, – the mayor declared.

According to Boychenko, Russian war criminals later transported deported Ukrainians to the Russian Federation (for example, to Tomsk or Tambov). From there, people call and report their situation.

According to Boychenko, there are cases when people from Russia managed to leave for Georgia and from there get to Ukraine.

According to preliminary estimates of the city authorities of Mariupol, restoring the infrastructure of the city, which suffers from the bombing by Russian invaders, will need almost $ 11.5 billion.
