On the morning of August 8, the first ship with Ukrainian food left the port since February 24. Bulk carrier SACURA is heading to Italy.

The vessel joined a caravan with the bulk carrier ARIZONA, which departed from the port of Chornomorsk to Turkey. 60,000 tons of agricultural products are on board both ships.

– Today, the largest Ukrainian port – Pivdennyi – is fully involved in the implementation of the Initiative. Thus, all the ports of Greater Odessa are used for the export of agricultural products. We are working with the guarantors of the agreements so that the “grain corridor” works without interruption and all safety requirements for shipping are met, – commented the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov on the event.

It is reported that within two weeks, Ukraine plans to reach a transshipment volume of 3-5 vessels per day.

We will remind, on July 22 in Istanbul, based on the proposals of the UN, Turkey and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres signed the Initiative on the safe transportation of grain and food products from the Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi.

On August 1 and 5, as part of the implementation of the agreements, four vessels with more than 80 thousand tons of corn were sent.

Taking into account the ships sent today, 8 ships with Ukrainian agricultural products have already left the ports.
