Many people have no limbs, damaged or no genitalia, head and chest injuries, rib fractures, shrapnel and stab wounds, as well as tied hands or ropes around the neck – at the mass burial site in Izyum, experts exhumed 447 bodies, among which 22 servicemen.
Serhii Bolvinov, the head of the Kharkiv region Police Investigative Department, reported this.
According to him, among the recovered bodies, 194 belong to men, 215 to women and 5 to children.
The gender of another 11 people has not yet been determined.
At the burial site, 105 police officers, 10 forensic laboratories, 10 forensic experts, 80 employees of the State Emergency Service and prosecutors participated in the investigation.
Bolvinov emphasized that the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, investigative actions are being taken to identify those involved in war crimes.
After the liberation of Izyum from the Russian occupiers on September 15, about 450 ordinary graves and one mass grave were discovered in the forest.
During the exhumation, signs of violent death were found on the bodies of some of the dead.
