The Russians are bringing teachers from Dagestan to the occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, more than half of the children have left.
As Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said at the briefing, 12,000 children are studying online in Ukrainian schools.
– Last week, regular tourers were brought in – about 10 teachers from Dagestan. I do not understand why Dagestani teachers will teach our children, because the culture is different, the language is different. Last time, such tours took no more than two weeks. I hope that these teachers will stay even less in our territory, – Fedorov said.
The mayor of Melitopol noted that the majority of school-aged children left the temporarily occupied territories.
– Exactly more than 50% of school-age children left the territory of temporary occupation. On the one hand, our Ukrainian Melitopol schools work online, and approximately 12,000 children receive their education online. As for the educational process in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, it is definitely not about education, it is about propaganda, – he said.
Fedorov said that on September 1, 15 schools were opened in the occupied city, but now only 12 are working, because there are not enough students and teachers who would agree to teach according to the Russian curriculum.
The mayor of the city added that the Russian military continues to set up ammunition depots in the basements of schools. In particular, when the Ukrainian defense forces destroyed the occupiers’ base on the outskirts of Melitopol, the Russians set up an ammunition depot in the premises of school No. 7.
