The Ukrainian army took 15th place in the ranking of the strongest in the world. Russia still remains on the second step, and the USA is leading.
The Global Firepower ranking uses over 60 individual factors to determine a country’s Power Index (PwrIndx), with categories ranging from number of military units, money invested, logistical capabilities and geographic location.
The researchers’ scoring formula allows smaller but more developed countries to compete with larger but less developed nations.
Special modifiers in the form of bonuses and penalties are used for this.
The Global Firepower rating for 2023 considers 145 world states.
