Ukraine is the EU: President of the European Council Charles Michel spoke before the parliament
On Thursday, January 19, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, spoke in the Verkhovna Rada.
He expressed confidence that Ukraine will win the war against Russia, and also stated that the EU will continue to support our country.
– The issue of membership in the EU has been resolved. Ukraine is the EU, and the EU is Ukraine. And we must make every effort to turn this promise into reality as soon as possible – said the head of the European Council.
According to Michel, “there cannot be a free Europe without a free Ukraine.”
– My dear Ukrainian brothers and sisters, you have chosen to join our union. You pay a heavy price for it. And we will never forget it, – he said.
Charles Michel also spoke about his trip to Borodyanka and his impressions of what he saw.
Heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of EU member states were present during the speech.
