Poland may transfer its F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, provided that such a decision is supported by NATO.
This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.
– “As it was a few months ago in the context of MiGs, any other air power will be realized and possibly transferred in coordination with NATO countries. We will act in full coordination here,” he said.
According to him, all actions aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense forces are coordinated with NATO, including air defense and the organization of a tank group.
However, projects are often implemented thanks to pressure from the Polish side and an agreement with the United States.
Earlier it became known that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposed the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine.
His decision is motivated by the fact that he does not want to “raise the stakes”. Scholz added that the German government wants to avoid a possible escalation between NATO and Russia.
