The Russian occupiers are afraid of a breakthrough by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions.
This was stated in the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on February 13.
The British Ministry of Defense is certain: a breakthrough by the Armed Forces in the Zaporizhzhia region would seriously question the viability of the Russian “land bridge” connecting the Rostov region of the Russian Federation with Crimea.
Instead, Ukraine’s success in Luhansk will further undermine Russia’s declared military goal of “liberating” Donbas.
– So, presumably, the Russian command faced one of the main dilemmas during the planning of operations, because it has to decide which of the threats should be countered first, – according to British intelligence.
This can explain why Russia, despite its operational focus on Donbas, is concerned about the defense of the front line, which stretches approximately 1,288 km (the front line is 192 km in the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia region alone).
Such assumptions of the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain are confirmed, in particular, by images from open sources, which show that as of February 7, Russia could further strengthen defense fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region, in particular near the town of Tarasivka.
And a month ago, Russia installed defensive fortifications between the cities of Vasylivka and Orikhov.
So all these facts indicate, add British intelligence officers, that the Russian Federation continues to build defense fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions and deploy personnel there.
