PMC Wagner sends more experienced fighters to storm Avdiyivka – ISW

The Russian command sent more experienced fighters of the Wagner PMC to attack and capture Avdiyivka. The occupiers have little tactical success in the area.
This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Recently, the spokesman of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tavriysk direction, Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkovskii, stated that the Wagnerites may appear in the Avdiyivsk direction.
On March 26, a Russian user of the VKontakte social network posted the obituary of Yevhen Malgotin, a militant of the Wagner group. He was killed in Avdiivka on March 20.
The obituary claims that Malgotin fought in the 2nd Russian volunteer unit of the Army of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnian Serb Army – Ed.) in 1992.

Analysts point out that in the east of Ukraine, mostly Russian prisoners are involved in the Wagner PMC. But, obviously, there is a contingent of more experienced fighters.
The ISW believes that in recent weeks, the Russian command may have sent the Wagnerites to the Avdiyivka area to support the exhausted and not so professional fighters of the “DNR”.
If experienced Wagnerians fought there, then this explains the limited tactical success of the PMC in this area.
