Berlin has taken note of the words of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, former Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk about the need to increase military assistance to Ukraine.
This was stated by German government spokesman Steffen Gebestreit during a briefing.
– “We have taken this request into account. The federal government, like many other countries in Europe and the Euro-Atlantic community, supports Ukraine according to its capabilities: politically, financially, humanitarianly, and with weapons. We are doing what we can,” he said.
The day before, Melnyk said that Ukraine was grateful to its allies for their military assistance, but that the Ukrainian Armed Forces needed 10 times more weapons to end the war this year.
