Russian occupation troops have reduced the activity of offensive operations in the Bakhmut area. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders continue to advance on the flanks.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar informed about this.
– This day, the activity of the enemy’s offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction has somewhat decreased. However, the number of shelling is consistently high, – she said.
According to Malyar, the intensity of fighting in Bakhmut has decreased. The occupiers are “cleaning” the occupied areas of the city.
The Ukrainian military currently controls the southwestern outskirts of Bakhmut in the “Litak” area.
Fighting continues in the suburbs of the settlement. The troops of the Russian Federation are trying to take advantageous positions there, but they are unable to do so.
– In certain areas, the enemy is on the defensive. Bears great losses. We have a slight advance on the flanks to the north and south of Bakhmut, – Malyar added.
As Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, informed, the Ukrainian military maintains a small bridgehead in the southwestern part of Bakhmut. It is about buildings, fortifications, trenches, strongholds. This prevents the enemy from completely capturing the city.
