In the northern operational area, the Chernihiv and Sumy directions remain the hottest spots. The occupants are shelling these areas with multiple rocket launchers, artillery, mortars and air strikes.
– The enemy is also attempting to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups,” said Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
At the same time, he assured that the forces of the operational and strategic grouping of troops in the North are fully prepared to repel any threats from the Russian Federation.
According to him, the General Staff has envisaged measures to strengthen its positions in the event of a possible escalation of the situation, but the number of forces and means in this area is sufficient.
– In general, Russia does not give up its attempts to conduct hostilities in these areas. We understand this and are taking all necessary measures, primarily to protect civilians and enhance the capabilities of our troops,” Nayev concluded.
