German engineering and arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will supply two more Skynex air defence systems to Ukraine.

It is noted that in the second half of 2023, Ukraine will receive two advanced Skynex air defence systems and ammunition for them.
– “The Skynex systems will be installed on new Rheinmetall HX 8×8 military trucks,” the statement said.
Skynex is designed for very short-range air defence operations where guided missiles are ineffective.
The use of Ahead 35mm programmable ammunition, developed by Rheinmetall for this purpose, is significantly cheaper than similar systems based on guided missiles.
It is also noted that 35-mm shells cannot be affected or deflected by electronic countermeasures.
Recently, Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, including the first ten Leopard 1A5 tanks.
