Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) did not find mines or explosives on the roofs of two reactors at Zaporizhzhya NPP during the inspection.

This is stated in the agency’s official report.

– “The IAEA experts did not find any mines or explosives on the roofs of the reactor buildings of Units 3 and 4 and in the turbine rooms of ZNPP after gaining access to them yesterday afternoon,” said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

He added that the IAEA team will continue to request access to the roofs of the four remaining Zaporizhzhya NPP units.

– “I welcome the news that the IAEA experts have finally been granted this additional access to the site. Timely, independent and objective coverage of the facts on the ground is crucial to the IAEA’s continued efforts to support nuclear safety and security during the military conflict in the country,” said Grossi.

As a reminder, yesterday Ukrainian sappers managed to find two Russian anti-personnel mines on the route of the IAEA mission to the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

According to Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the mines were defused. This ensured the safety of the experts.
