Russia is ready to intensify the mobilization campaign, since the number of personnel is the only obvious advantage of the Russian army over Ukraine.

This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with The Economist.

According to him, human resources in Russia are relatively unlimited. The quality of personnel training is low, but the quantity is sufficient.

Watching now

For example, the 25th combined arms army of the Russian Armed Forces, which was prematurely deployed on the eastern front in the Lyman and Kupyansk regions, has only 80% of its personnel and 55% of the equipment that should have been at its disposal.

As for other resources of the Russian Federation, they are running out. According to the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Russia’s economy will last only until 2025. The flow of weapons will run out in 2026, “and maybe even earlier.”

— Vladimir Putin’s negotiations with North Korea are a clear indication of his problems. If everything is fine and there are enough resources in Russia, why are they looking for resources all over the world? The answer is obvious. There is nothing more to take from stocks, – Budanov noted.

But Ukraine also risks exhausting its resources, admits Kyrylo Budanov. Kyiv depends on Western partners, and Russia mainly depends on itself.

Therefore, a protracted war is dangerous for Ukraine because it exhausts not only its internal resources, but also the resources of its Western allies.
