At the Engels airbase, the Russian military painted Tu-95s to confuse and complicate Ukrainian intelligence.

A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Andriy Yusov, said on the air of the United News that Russia’s “no analogues” is reaching a new level.

According to him, the Russians think that Ukrainians will mistake the painted planes for real ones and attack with drones. This is how Russia may be trying to protect its air force.

– Perhaps they are trying to write off another budgetary money to repair equipment or buy new ones. But, seriously, it’s both sad and funny to comment on,” said Andriy Yusov.

He emphasized that Russia has recently positioned itself as almost a leader in the arms market, the second largest army in the world, and now it is trying to imitate with pre-flood creativity that it is strengthening the protection of its facilities. For example, the Russians used to cover their airplanes with tires. This was supposed to protect them from drone attacks.

The representative of the GUR noted that the Russians could protect their airfields if they completely withdrew from the territory of Ukraine.

Earlier, the American publication The War Zone published satellite images from September 29, which show two-dimensional drawings of Russian bombers. They are drawn quite realistically, although they forgot to add shadows from the aircraft.
