The resources of Russia, Iran and North Korea are not enough for a global military confrontation with democratic states.
This opinion was expressed by Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in a commentary to host Yana Brenzey during the telethon of the United News.
He was commenting on Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine and Hamas’ attack on Israel.
– “There will be no global conflict because the resource capabilities of Russia, Iran, and North Korea are not comparable to the technological and military capabilities of the democratic countries. These are incompatible things,” Podoliak emphasized.
At the same time, he pointed out that dictatorships such as Russia are more aggressive in their foreign policy because “they are thugs, they are always aggressive.”
Podoliak disagrees with the assumption that Russia has the capacity to sustain a long war.
– “It’s nonsense to say that Russia can sustain a long war, which is what is being said all the time today. That Russia can initiate any other global changes, etc. is not true,” the advisor to the head of the Presidential Administration is convinced.
He added that in this situation, Western elites should abandon the idea of returning to the “pre-war era,” that is, to the realities that existed before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
– There are periods in history when tough decisions have to be made… The era of Russia’s propaganda or diplomatic dominance must end. I’m not talking about the military component, etc.,” Podoliak explained.
According to him, this requires “giving Ukraine the opportunity to bring this war to an end.” According to Podoliak, the West should “accept the concept that Russia knows how to lose, can and should lose.”
