Germany to provide Ukraine with additional €195 million package to support energy sector

The head of the German Ministry of Development, Svenja Schulze, has promised to allocate an additional €195 million to support energy supply and enterprises in Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the German ministry following a meeting between Schulze and Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Community Development, Territorial and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
Schulze said that heat and electricity play a key role in ensuring the resilience of the people of Ukraine, especially as winter approaches.
– “That is why we are stepping up our support for Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure. The Ukrainian government is committed to reconstruction that will make the country more resilient and bring it closer to the EU. We will actively support them in this,” she said.
The German ministry noted that about half of the funds should be used to protect energy infrastructure shortly before the start of winter, restore the damaged Ukrainian power grid and ensure the use of energy-efficient technologies.
