55 countries signed the declaration on the tragic 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, which Ukraine initiated at the UN.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced this on Twitter (X) .

In his opinion, it is important that the Holodomor attracts increased attention at the UN, and the number of signatures has increased dramatically compared to the previous such document in 2018.

Kuleba added that Ukrainian diplomacy will continue to work on restoring historical justice and honoring the victims of the Holodomor.

– The horrors of the Holodomor should serve as a clear reminder to today’s and future generations of the need to prevent such atrocities and attempts to use food as a weapon, which are one of the key components of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, – said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We will remind that 32 US states have already recognized the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians.

On October 12, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
