The expert explained how the Russian Federation plans missile attacks on Ukraine and how bad weather affected it
The bad weather affected the fact that Russia has not yet started mass missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine. In total, the Russian military managed to accumulate up to 300 Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles in order to hit peaceful settlements in the future.
Oleksandr Musienko, the head of the Center for Military and Legal Research, stated this to Vadim Karpyak, the host of the political talk show Freedom of Speech on ICTV and telethon.
– Worsening weather conditions really interfere with shelling. But, for example, there was information that Russian anti-aircraft radar planes were in the air and conducting reconnaissance. In particular, they flew into the waters of the Sea of Azov. They gain height, so they can be at the level that allowed them. Despite the weather conditions, they conduct reconnaissance. It is obvious that these planes are making adjustments, trying to identify certain points, conducting reconnaissance of air defense facilities with the aim of launching missile strikes. The strategic aviation of the Russian Federation is ready, it is all hidden in the north, mainly in the Murmansk region.
And the salvo that they have accumulated for this aircraft, I mean the Tu-95, can be up to 300 missiles. There are numbers of 800, but it must be understood that they cover Kalibr, Point-U and other missiles. And I am talking about the Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles. This is enough for 3-4 large-scale attacks, – Musienko said.
According to the expert, Ukrainian air defense forces shoot down about 80-85% of enemy targets. In general, from September last year to November 2023 inclusive, the Russian Federation launched about 3,000 drones over Ukraine, Musienko noted.
– Our ratio is 80-85% of targets shot down. This is not 100%, which is extremely difficult to ensure, you need to understand. But this is quite a high indicator. There is information that the Russian Su began to be wary of the fact that certain means have appeared that are already covering our military contingents operating on the left bank. They have already started recording. What does it mean? We are improving our capabilities so much with partners that we are ready to repel these massive strikes.
However, there are risks and dangers. Russia tried to pass a large number of drones. It was they who checked how well our system works, the echelon defense of countermeasures, how vulnerable or invulnerable it is. If you count the drones according to the data provided by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the administration and the General Staff, that is, from official sources, during the campaign from September last year to November inclusive, then in total about 3 thousand Shahed were used, – the analyst drew attention.
