Russian pilot Maksym Kuzminov, who drove an enemy Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine, decided to move to Spain instead of staying in Ukraine.
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, told Ukrainian Pravda about this.
– Our country’s proposal was for him to stay in Ukraine. He would definitely be protected here. And I don’t think that they could brawl here like it happened in Spain, – he said.
The interlocutor of Ukrainian Pravda in the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense said that Maksym Kuzminov invited his ex to his house, and later he was found shot dead. A burned-out car was discovered nearby, in which the liquidators were probably fleeing.
According to Oleksiy Danilov, if the Russians are involved in this, then this is not the first time when they kill people on the territory of the EU country.
At the same time, he noted that not much is known now, so we have to wait for official documents and conclusions from the Spanish side.
– Now I would not make hasty conclusions. It is necessary to receive appropriate confirmation, to understand what happened – stressed Oleksiy Danilov.

On August 9, 2023, Kuzminov overtook an enemy Mi-8 helicopter to the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian special services took the entire family of the Russian pilot abroad.
In September 2023, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, told the details of the special operation with the Mi-8 helicopter.
On February 19, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense confirmed the death of Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov in Spain.
