The enemy’s advance became very rapid: what happened at the Zenit position in Avdiivka
In Avdiivka, Donetsk region, Ukrainian troops tried to drive to the Zenit position to get the rest of the soldiers who remained there.
Anton Kotsukon, spokesman for the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Lieutenant General Mark Berzruchko, told Donbas Realities Radio.
What happened in Avdiivka at Zenit
– Regarding Zenit: they tried to get there with armored vehicles until the last, just pickup trucks. But at some point, the enemy’s advance was so rapid, so fast, that the equipment could not physically get there. They were just shooting absolutely everything that moved,” he said.
According to the 110th Brigade spokesperson, the Russians had a 10-fold advantage in the number of firepower alone. At the same time, in recent days, Russian troops have been throwing up to 100 huge aerial bombs at the Avdiivka direction.
Kotsukon said that at some point, the Zenit position in Avdiivka was surrounded, which meant that Ukrainian equipment could not physically reach it, although the Defense Forces tried repeatedly.
Recently, the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported that the Russian side promised to evacuate wounded Ukrainian soldiers from Avdiivka, Donetsk region, and subsequently exchange them, but shot the soldiers.
