Explosions on May 8: 39 out of 55 missiles and 20 out of 21 UAVs were eliminated

On May 8, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Ukraine with various types of missiles and Shahed-136/131 attack drones.

Explosions on May 8: what is known about the work of air defense

In total, the occupiers used 76 means of air attack.

Air defense forces eliminated 59 enemy targets – 39 out of 55 missiles and 20 out of 21 UAVs.

In particular, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed:

• 33 out of 45 Kh-101 /Kh-555 cruise missiles (launched from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft, launch area – Saratov Region of the Russian Federation and the Caspian Sea);
• all four Kalibr cruise missiles (launched from the Black Sea);
• both Kh-59 /Kh-69 guided air missiles (launched from the occupied Zaporizhzhia region);
• 20 out of 21 Shahed-131/136 type attack drones (launched from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions in the Krasnodar Territory and the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation).

Failed to eliminate:

• one Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile (launched from the Tambov region of the Russian Federation;
• two Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launched from temporarily occupied Crimea);
• one Iskander-K cruise missile (launched from temporarily occupied Crimea).
