Ukraine extended transport visa-free with the EU: what is known
Truck transportation from Ukraine to the EU and from the EU to Ukraine will no longer require special permits.
The updated agreement also provides for a number of mutual obligations regarding the availability of licenses for transportation and marking of trucks.
– Visa-free transportation has already strengthened our economy. During the year and a half of the agreement, Ukraine exported 48% more goods to the EU than in the same period before its signing. We look forward to maintaining this positive dynamic, – he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Visa-free promotes imports, which increased by 44%. These are, in particular, goods and equipment needed by Ukrainian manufacturers to establish the production process.
– We are grateful to our European partners for their support and solidarity. We are taking another important step towards integration into the economic space of a unified Europe as a prerequisite for EU membership, – Shmyhal added.
It will be recalled that the agreement was signed in June 2022 and then extended until the end of June 2024. The same document was signed with Moldova.
The agreements grant bilateral transport rights to Ukrainian, Moldovan and European carriers on each other’s territory.
