Latvia announced the transfer of the largest batch of drones to Ukraine

Latvia has prepared the largest batch of drones of its own production for shipment to Ukraine.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Latvia Andris Spruds on his page in the X social network.

According to him, a batch of 1,400 drones has been prepared for shipment to Ukraine.

— The largest batch from Latvian manufacturers – 1,400 drones – is ready to be sent to Ukraine. Thus, the procurement by the Ministry of Defense of more than 2,700 drones of the Latvian industry for Ukraine is completed, – Spruds noted.

The head of the Latvian Ministry of Defense added that Riga provided Kyiv with 3,000 combat drones of various types and characteristics as part of the Drone Coalition.

“Together with Latvian companies, we will continue to provide support until the victory of Ukraine,” he emphasized.

Earlier in August, Spruds reported that Ukraine received another batch of drones from Latvia , namely 500 copies.

Coalition of drones for Ukraine

On February 17, 2024, the drone coalition was officially launched within the framework of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine.

At the end of July, the country’s Ministry of Defense was informed about the transfer to Ukraine of 2.5 thousand drones of various types for the amount of €4 million.
