At the court hearing, Shishimarin once again admitted his guilt and stated that he sincerely repents. His lawyers also emphasized that the Russian military man formally complied with the order and had no criminal intent to kill the man.

Vadim Shishimarin’s advocates have stated that they will appeal the court’s decision.

We will remind that the 21-year-old sergeant of the fourth tank Kantemirov division of the Moscow region Vadim Shishimarin was accused of killing on February 28, 2022, the 62-year-old inhabitant of the village of Chupakhivka of the Sumy region. The man died on the scene just a few dozen meters from his home.

According to the investigation, before the murder, the Ukrainian military men broke the column in which Shishimarin was moving. While fleeing, he and four other occupiers fired at a private car and stole it. In a car, the Russian military drove into the village.

On the way, they saw a man walking home, talking on the phone. One of the soldiers ordered Shishimarin to kill a civilian so that he would not report them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He obeyed the order – the man was shot in the head.

The first court hearing in the Shishimarin case took place on May 13. Then the Russian military man admitted his guilt in the premeditated murder of a civilian.
