The mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko admits an “apocalypse” scenario if Russia continues to attack critical infrastructure facilities. He said this in an interview with Reuters.

He emphasized that there is currently no need to evacuate local residents, although they should be prepared for such.

— Kyiv may be left without electricity, water and heat. An apocalypse may occur, as in Hollywood films, when it is impossible to live in houses due to low temperature, – said the mayor.

Klitschko added that everything possible is currently being done to prevent this from happening.

The city authorities of the capital have prepared about 500 points of indomitability. But, as Klitschko says, this is nothing for a city of 3 million.

According to him, if there is no electricity supply and the outside temperature is low, then water will have to be drained from the buildings so as not to disrupt the water supply system.

The mayor of Kyiv once again called to prepare emergency supplies of food and water, as well as to have clothes and documents ready in case of a quick departure. However, Klitschko reassured that there is currently no need for evacuation as the city’s power deficit is only 20% and conditions remain stable.
