There are sufficient reasons for Russia’s nuclear industry to be under global sanctions – Zelenskyy

The terrorist state of Russia uses the nuclear industry as one of the elements of external expansion to pressure other states to create reciprocal threats to the sovereignty of other countries.
These are sufficient reasons for Russia’s nuclear industry to be subject to global sanctions. And Ukraine is working on this with its partners, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address on February 5.
According to the Head of State, today, there is another sanction step of Ukraine against the terrorist country Russia. In particular, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against Russia’s nuclear industry has been enacted.
– And this is not the last decision regarding this industry. The meaning of our steps is also to support the efforts of our diplomats to expand global sanctions on this part of the Russian aggression machine, – Zelenskyy said.
He drew attention to the fact that Russia is the only country in the world that allows its military to shell nuclear power plants and use nuclear power plants as a cover for shelling. Russian missiles have repeatedly followed trajectories over Ukraine’s nuclear facilities, Zelenskyy reminded.
Our preparations for the events of the new week have already begun – the President assures that it can be quite significant. In particular, decisions and negotiations are being prepared to strengthen the military and give Ukraine more international support and weapons.
As of now, hundreds of thousands of people in the Odesa region are without electricity. Before the Russian terror, such problems with electricity could not exist in Ukraine, and now extraordinary efforts are needed to ensure the normal operation of the energy system, the President noted.
– By the way, following this week’s results, we have reached some important agreements with partners in the energy sector. In particular, the European Union is ready to support Ukraine with electricity supplies. We are also stepping up cooperation in the supply of power equipment. We also have extremely successful examples of energy-saving initiatives.
For example, this week alone, people have already received the first million LED lamps in exchange for energy-consuming incandescent lamps. More than 800 thousand applications for this program are already available in the Diia mobile application, which makes it as convenient as possible.
– When we fully implement the program, which is 30 million LED bulbs, it will result in significant savings in consumption.
Many reports show the occupiers want to avenge their last year’s defeats in February. Ukraine is seeing increased pressure on various fronts, as well as pressure in the information field.
– It is very difficult in the Donetsk region – there are fierce battles. But no matter how hard it is and no matter what the pressure is, we have to survive. We have to use every day and every week to strengthen our defense at the front, to strengthen our international position, to increase pressure on Russia, and to give our people new opportunities to get through this difficult time. We have no other alternative but to defend and win, – the President assures.
