Felt on the front lines: how the protest of Polish carriers affects the war in Ukraine

Due to the blockade of the Ukrainian border by Polish carriers, humanitarian cargo and weapons for the Armed Forces are being delayed.
This was reported by The New York Times.
How the strike of Polish carriers affects the war in Ukraine
As the journalists note, the months-long blockade of Polish carriers is beginning to affect Ukrainian soldiers in frozen trenches defending themselves from relentless Russian shelling, making the already fierce battles even more difficult.
One of the soldiers fighting in eastern Ukraine told the newspaper that his unit is still waiting for the delivery of two night vision devices, which are necessary for soldiers to safely navigate their way to combat positions.
He said the equipment was detained at the border, where Polish trucks have blocked the main checkpoints since November 6, causing backups of many kilometers.
– In order to block the country’s borders, during a full-scale invasion, they need to completely detach themselves from reality, and in doing so, they also wash their hands in the blood of people who are waiting for the necessary help, – he said.
What Polish carriers demand
Polish truck drivers are demanding that the European Union restore the permit system for Ukrainian truck drivers, which was canceled after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
