Russian Forces Shelled Residential Block in Kyiv – One Person Killed

Russian forces shelled a residential block in Podilsky District in Kyiv, according to the Kyiv City State Administration.

Rescue and medical personnel are now operating on-scene. The type and amount of damage to residential buildings and the number of casualties are being verified.

According to the State Emergency Service, a fire broke out at a five-story residential building, resulting from the shelling.

The fire, which engulfed the first through third floors, has since been put out.

According to preliminary reports, 12 residents were rescued and 98 were evacuated. Four persons were injured. Sadly, one person was killed.

On March 17, Russian invaders shelled Sviatoshynsky District in Kyiv, resulting in fires. Two persons were killed.

Also on March 17, Russian forces launched a heavy artillery attack on residential buildings in Vyshhorod District near Kyiv. As a result of the attack, a multi-story building in the village of Novi Petrivtsi was destroyed and nearby residential buildings were damaged.

According to the police, a 2-year-old child was killed and four persons sustained multiple injuries.

The war in Ukraine has now been ongoing for 23 days. Ukrainian defenders admirably fight back against Russian invaders. However, Putin’s forces continue missile strikes targeting residential buildings, hospitals, schools, critical infrastructure facilities, and military installations.
