Evacuation of people from Azovstal cost the lives of three defenders, six more were wounded
Yesterday, May 6, during the evacuation of Mariupol civilians from the Azovstal plant, Russian servicemen killed three Ukrainian defenders and wounded six more of our soldiers.
This happened when a car that was supposed to evacuate people from Azovstal drove into the plant, said Azov Regiment Deputy Commander Sviatoslav Palamar.
According to him, Russian troops hit the evacuation vehicle with an enemy anti-tank missile system, after which one Ukrainian defender was killed and six others wounded. Two more of our soldiers were killed by enemy bombs from an unmanned aerial vehicle.
According to the Azov Regiment, on May 6, Russian troops shelled an evacuation vehicle near Azovstal that was on its way to take civilians to safety. At the time, one Ukrainian defender was reported dead.
On the day of the tragedy, soldiers of the Azov Regiment announced the consequences of the shelling of the evacuation vehicle. In the video, you can see one wounded defender who was in hellish pain due to a serious injury. There is still a critical humanitarian crisis in Mariupol – there is not even enough medicine.
