Took hostages in the hospital of Bucha: the Russian military was informed of a suspicion

The Russian soldier was informed of suspicion for participating in capturing Bucha city in Kyiv suburbs and taking hostages in the hospital.

As per the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office’s data, the suspect took part in the occupation of Bucha city in the Kyiv region. Along with other armed Russian troops riding armored vehicles of landing forces, he approached the administrative building of the Irpin Central City Hospital located in Bucha to execute the tasks and orders by the High military commandment of the Russian Federation.

To spread the fear among the employees and patients of the hospital, following the serviceman’s order, invaders had aimed the large-caliber machine guns at the building of the medical unit. Accompanied by his armed military buddies, he entered the hospital, then blocked all the entrances and exits from the building.

The suspect had been forcing one of the employees to obtain the mayor’s post of the temporarily occupied Bucha by keeping the civilians as hostages and threatening them with arms.

In absentia, the law-enforcement agents informed the serviceman of the operational appointment regiment №656 of the military unit №6720 army of the Russian Federation’s National Guard in violation of the laws and rules of war, incitement to the implementation of the State treason (according to the paragraph four of article 27; par. two art. 111; par. one art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
