In Kharkiv region, the occupiers fired at a column of cars: more than 20 people were killed, including children
In the Kharkiv region, a column of cars with civilians was shelled in the Kupyansk district.
Updated at 4:20 p.m. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Siniegubov, said that as a result of the shelling of the column of seven cars, 24 people were killed, including a pregnant woman and 13 children.
Updated at 4:01 p.m. According to preliminary data, the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office said that at least 22 people were killed, including 10 children.
According to the investigation, the Russian army shot a column of seven cars near the village of Kurylovka in the Kupyansk district on September 25 when civilians were trying to evacuate.
Two cars burned completely, with children and their parents in them – they were burned alive.
Updated at 2:31 p.m. According to the head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleg Siniegubov, according to preliminary data, 20 people were killed in the cars.
– The occupiers struck civilians who were trying to escape the shelling. This is cruelty that has no justification,- Siniegubov noted.
The acting head of the SSU, Vasily Malyuk, said that a civilian column of seven cars was shot in late September in the so-called gray zone between occupied Svatov, Luhansk Region, and liberated Kupyansk, Kharkiv Region.
According to him, there are 10 children among the dead. The civilians were attacked by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the occupants. They used small arms to shoot at nearly point-blank range at six old passenger cars and one GAZelle truck.
The war crime is being investigated under part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder.
The final number of victims is being established, and appropriate expert examinations are being conducted. Several people managed to escape, they are now testifying to the investigators.
We recall that on September 16, it became known that the AFU had liberated Kupyansk from the Russian occupiers. However, the city still suffers from enemy strikes.
Thus, on September 26, Russian troops shelled Kupyansk, which resulted in burning a church, school, an outbuilding, and a store.
Five people were hospitalized because of the enemy shelling. They are all residents of the Kupyansk district.
