SBU: Anti-Ukrainian propaganda found at UOC-MP leadership in Kirovohrad region during searches

Leaders and some representatives of Kirovohrad diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate distributed anti-Ukrainian materials made in Russia and incited religious hatred among the faithful.
SBU officers conducted searches in Kirovohrad and Oleksandriya dioceses, as well as at the homes of the so-called clergymen, where they seized material evidence.
Also, law enforcement officers found correspondence of the Metropolitan of Kirovohrad and Novomyrhorod with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow.
All of this contains signs of crimes under two articles of the Criminal Code: Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) and Art. 161 (violation of equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, region, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds).
According to the investigation, the materials that justified the annexation of Crimea and the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine were actively distributed among clergy and believers.
All seized materials were sent for examination.
Since February 24, the SBU has opened 23 criminal proceedings on the subversive activities of individual representatives of the UOC-MP, which involve 33 suspects who were engaged in collecting intelligence for Russian special services or adjusted the enemy’s fire on Ukrainian cities.
