SBU searches UOC diocese in Bukovyna: manuals from Moscow and Russian citizenship found

The Security Service of Ukraine conducted counterintelligence measures in the territory of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC (MP).
Law enforcement officers found documents confirming the presence of Russian citizenship among the leadership of the diocesan structures.
As well as correspondence of the diocesan leaders with curators from Moscow, from whom they receive “manuals” on the “peculiarities” of holding church liturgies after the full-scale invasion of Russia.
– Representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church set the task to engage in disinformation about the socio-political situation in Ukraine and the situation at the front. In particular, they demanded from the priests of the UOC to deny the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, to talk about the alleged oppression of the “Moscow church”, etc.
During the searches, law enforcement officers also found warehouses with wholesale consignments of pro-Kremlin literature praising Russia and calling for support for the occupiers.
And during the inspection of the computers of the diocesan leadership, photocopies of certificates of racists who participated in hostilities against Ukrainian troops were found. In particular, a “hero of Russia” certificate signed by the Russian Defense Minister for the “capture of Crimea” in 2014.
Procedural actions in the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the SBU investigators under Part 2 Art. 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are ongoing.
