He was leaking data on the offensive operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the enemy: SBU detains traitor
The SBU Military Counterintelligence exposed another Russian agent who leaked plans for combat operations in a strategically important area of the frontline to the enemy.
This was reported by the agency’s press service.
According to the investigation, the traitor was an official of one of the military units. He was recruited after the start of the full-scale invasion.
– The man secretly collected information on the movement of Ukrainian troops and their replenishment with equipment and ammunition, as well as leaked analytical reports from the front to his Russian handlers,” the statement said.
“The offender was detained red-handed during another attempt to transfer data. This time, he planned to inform the enemy about the operational situation in one of the combat areas.
During the searches, investigators found communication equipment and computer hardware that he used to communicate with the occupiers.
The SBU served the traitor a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code.
The detainee fully admitted his guilt. He is currently in custody without the right to be released on bail.
He faces 15 years in prison to life imprisonment for high treason under martial law.
