16 of 17 Shaheds destroyed – Air Force on drone strike at night
On the night of July 14, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 16 of 17 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones.
The drones with which the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine were flying from the south-eastern direction – from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar region of Russia, which is on the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov.
To eliminate enemy targets, anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved.
16 Shaheds were landed in the areas of responsibility of the Southern and Eastern Air Commands:
- eight – over Odesa region,
- two – over Mykolaiv region,
- six – over the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In addition, during the night, the defenders of the sky shot down one reconnaissance drone.
Another six UAVs of the operational-tactical level were hit by air defense in the past day.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for the 506th day.
