The Ukraine national team defeated Armenia in the third round of the 2022/23 Nations League Division B match in Group 1. The meeting was held in Lodz, Poland, at the LSC stadium and ended 3-0.

The Blue-Yellows dominated in the first half, which Oleksandr Petrakov’s charges claimed already in the 7th minute of the match. Roman Yaremchuk could have scored but took a poor shot that was saved by the opposing goalkeeper David Yurchenko.

In the middle of the first half, Ruslan Malinovskyy shot, but the ball flew over the goal. Victor Tsygankov tried to clear the score, but the goalkeeper parried his shot.

Mykola Shaparenko had another good chance; he was in an ideal position but shot at the Armenian goal in the worst possible way.

After the break, Oleksandr Zinchenko passed to Malinovskyi, who shot a little over the goal. However, the Atalanta midfielder scored his goal. On 61 minutes, Oleksandr Karavaev put Malinovskyy in the striking position, after which Ruslan shot from the penalty line, sending the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.

Soon Armenia nearly equalized after Ilya Zabarny unsuccessfully sent the ball into his net, but Andriy Pyatov cleared it away from his own goal at the last moment.

Oleksandr Karavaev doubled the score after a rebound into the bottom corner of the net.

Fresh Vitaliy Mykolenko brought a devastating score, sending the ball from close range to Yurchenko’s goal. This is the first goal in a blue-yellow shirt for the English Everton defender.

Thus, after two matches played, Ukraine has 6 points and takes first place in Group 1. Armenia has 3 points in two games played, Scotland now also has 3 points (one meeting). Ireland is the only one without points after two games.
