The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France: the Ukrainian city of Mariupol becomes the “second Aleppo”

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian believes that the Ukrainian city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region is becoming the “second Aleppo” – the Syrian commercial capital, which in 2016 came under massive shelling with Russian support.
This was reported by The Times of Israel.
Jean-Yves Le Drian said at a political conference in Doha that Russia’s siege war against Ukrainian cities should cause collective guilt.
The massacre was arranged for the civilian population, it is being destroyed. The sufferings of people are terrible, – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France said.
Asked if he agreed with US President Joe Biden that Russian President Vladimir Putin could no longer remain in power, Le Drian only said that diplomacy with both sides of the military conflict remained a priority for France.
Le Drian says French President Emmanuel Macron is trying to prevent the worst in Ukraine through negotiations with both Ukrainian and Russian presidents.
The French minister noted that the most urgent task was a ceasefire so that the parties could move on to discussion of more pressing issues, such as security of Ukraine and possible neutral military status.
The French foreign minister says the world is “experiencing a turning point as the war continues to spiral”.
The blockade of Mariupol has been going on since the beginning of March.
Earlier, French media reported that France, Greece and Turkey are ready to help evacuate people from Mariupol.
